Kick Off Cyber Security Awareness Month: Secure Our World Together!
Welcome to Cyber Security Awareness Month!
This year’s theme is a reminder that as threats evolve, simple human choices remain at the heart of strong security culture.
Here’s what you can expect
This October, we’re focusing on four practical topics to help everyone in your organisation stay on top of cyber scams.
Human error remains one of the biggest risks to any organisation’s security, but it’s also where you have the most power to make a difference.

Week 1: Think Before You Click
We’ll start with the basics - spotting a scam. Not all phishing emails come with red flags and misspelled words. A phish could look like a quick invoice revision, a request from your boss, or an urgent account update. Take a moment. Verify the sender. Check the content. Thinking before you click can stop an attack before it starts.

Week 2: Trust Me, I’m AI
Cyber criminals love new tools, especially when it increases their likelihood at a successful attack. Generative AI makes it easier than ever to craft convincing vishing calls. Vishing is a phone scam that criminals use to pretend to be from your bank, your IT team, the government, and maybe your parents or children. We’ll share what to do if one catches you off guard, and how to future proof your voice calls.

Week 3: Your Digital Footprint
Everything you, and your friends share online - builds a digital footprint, or the human attack surface. Criminals use this trail to craft targeted attacks. We’ll help you think about what’s out there, limit what’s public, and stay mindful of how your information can be used against you.

Week 4: Secure Your World
We’ll wrap up the month with a refresher on the basics: strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, software updates. These simple habits protect devices and data better than any shiny new tool if you stick to them.
Human error remains one of the biggest risks to any organisation’s security, but it’s also where you have the most power to make a difference.
